This 12 mile trail is popular with hikers, runners, mountain bikers and horseback riders. The trail offers pine tree covered canyons, gentle slopes and open meadows. Along the trail you will see historic flumes and waterworks. Leashed dogs are welcome. Please clean up after your dog. The South Yuba River Recreation Area is located about 10 miles northeast of Nevada City. From Nevada City, take Highway 49 north to North Bloomfield Road. Drive 10 miles to the South Yuba Recreation Area. From the one lane bridge at Edwards Crossing, go about 1.5 miles on a dirt/gravel road to the campground and trailhead. Trailers and motorhomes should take Highway 49 and then turn right at the junction of Tyler Foote Road. At the intersection of Grizzly Hill Road turn right and proceed to North Bloomfield Road.
