Blackwood Canyon Rd-XCountry Ski
Blackwood Canyon Rd-XCountry Ski off Highway 89 Tahoe City, California
Get Map or Directions
Picturesque scenery can be seen along this unmarked road winding through Blackwood Canyon. Follow the road to an obvious junction and stay to the right. This path will lead you to a beautiful meadow where snowmobiles are not allowed. For a longer, more strenuous outing, continue upward to Barker Pass. Snowmobiles are allowed on this part of the trail. Take Highway 89 three miles south of Tahoe City to Blackwood Canyon Road, across from Kaspian Picnic Area. Continue to the Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park. You'll need to bring your own cross-country skis.
