Lake George
Lake George Lake George Rd. Mammoth Lakes, California
Get Map or Directions
At Lake George, you can find the trailheads for the Crystal Lake and Mammoth Crest trails. You'll be hiking among the beautiful pine trees and snow covered peaks. The trails start at the north side of Lake George. The hike to Crystal Lake is about a 3 mile round trip. If you want a longer hike, you'll have the option on your way to Crystal Lake. The Mammoth Crest trail is the trail that branches to the right. The Mammoth trail is about a 6 mile round trip and it's a more strenuous trail. To get there from the intersection of Main Street and Hwy 203, take Lake Mary Road to the left. Go past Twin Lakes. You'll see a road that goes off to the left (Lake Mary Loop Rd.). Go past this road, you'll want the other end of the loop. When you come to another road that also says Lake Mary Loop Rd, turn left. Then turn right onto Lake George Rd. Follow this road almost to the end and you should see signs for the Crystal Lake Trail. Dogs should be leashed.
