Get Map or Directions
This replica of Mark Twain's cabin has the original chimney and fireplace. During 1864-1865, young Mark Twain was a guest of the Gillis Brothers. While he stayed at this cabin, he gathered material for The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County (this book brought him fame) and for Roughing It. The cabin is located near Sonora, approximately 1 mile northwest of Tuttletown off Hwy 49. There are several parking spots next to the cabin.
