Nothing would be easier than bringing your furry friend along on a morning walk to get a cup of coffee from Starbucks; but unfortunately, their pet policy states that dogs are not allowed inside unless they’re considered a service dog. However, Starbucks offers a few alternatives to ensure your pup can enjoy the visit as much as you do.

Outside Spaces at Starbucks

Although your pooch won’t be allowed indoors, many Starbucks locations across the country offer large patios with plenty of outside seating that your dog can accompany you in. A majority of Starbucks locations also offer a drive-thru, where your pup can ride along in your car with you. One location in Atlanta even started a “Four-legged Wall of Fame” featuring Polaroid photos of dogs who visited their patio and drive-thru.

Ask for a Puppucino

One of the best-known secret menu items at Starbucks is a Puppucino—a short-sized cup of whipped cream with no coffee, espresso, or tea, making it the perfect treat for your canine coffee buddy. Most Starbucks employees will know what this is when you ask, but you can always specify that you’d like a side of whipped cream for your dog.
