As a dog parent, you’ve probably wondered, “what foods are safe for my dog?”. Luckily, many human foods are safe in moderation for dogs, and they can even make for a special treat for your furry friend. With almost unlimited ways to enjoy it, pasta makes for an amazing meal to share with friends and family. But is it safe for dogs to enjoy, too?

Is pasta safe for dogs?

So long as the pasta was not cooked with oils, seasonings, and other toxic ingredients (such as onions and garlic), pasta is fine to feed your dog occasionally. Though, pasta is also heavy in carbohydrates and is not part of a healthy dog’s diet.

Overall, plain, cooked pasta is fine for an occasional treat for your dog. As long as it’s not served for every meal, your dog can happily munch on some noodles without worry.
