Matanuska Glacier
Mile 102 Glenn Hwy
Matanuska Glacier,

This is one of the easiest to access glaciers in Alaska and very dog-friendly. About 2 1/2 miles off of the Glenn Hwy on a gravel road, the glacier is about a 20 minute walk from the parking lot to the surface ice. You are actually on the glacier much quicker. Your leashed dog may accompany you on the hike. There is overnight camping at the site, but there are no hookups. There is a gift shop as well. The glacier park is a private park and charges an admission fee. The glacier is about 2 hours from Anchorage along the Glenn Highway.
