Beacon Rock is actually the core of an ancient volcano, and the mile-long trail to its summit gives the viewer a stunning panoramic view of the Columbia River Gorge. With over 4,600 acres, more than 20 miles of multi-use trails, and 9,500 feet of freshwater shoreline, there is an abundance of plant and wildlife, and land and water recreation. Dogs of all sizes are allowed for no additional fee. Dogs must be under physical control at all times, leashed, and cleaned up after. Dogs are not allowed on designated swimming beaches.
