Central Park Off-Leash Hours and Areas
Central Park is a designated off-leash area for the hours of 9 pm until 9 am daily. Dogs are allowed off-leash in most of Central Park during these hours. They are never allowed at all in playgrounds, display fountains, ballfields, Elm Islands, Sheep Meadow, East Green and Strawberry Fields. They must always be leashed in the the woodlands, Conservatory Garden, Shakespeare Garden, Bridle Trail, Cedar Hill, Kerbs Boathouse Plaza and whereever signs are posted. Between 9 am and 9 pm and in areas where off-leash is not allowed dog owners will be fined if their dogs are off-leash.
