Description
This museum was founded in 1959 to preserve the memory and spirit of the men and women who prospected, homesteaded, and eventually settled in Northeastern Oregon, and to share this rich pioneer history with present and future generations. The museum has over 10,000 nostalgic artifacts, and several outer historic buildings including a one room school house. The school is still furnished and complete in 1800’s style. The Museum is open to the public Thursday through Monday from May 15 through September 15. Hours of operation are from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm,,, the off season is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm., Monday through Thursday. Dogs of all sizes are allowed to explore this historic site with their owners, but they are not allowed inside buildings. Dogs must be well behaved, friendly, leashed at all times, and cleaned up after.
