One of the state’s best preserved frontier forts with 23 original and restored structures, this site was the hub of the West Texas region in the mid-1800s. This site is also host to numerous fun events throughout the year. Dogs are allowed throughout the grounds and in Barracks 1,,, they must be leashed and under their owner’s control at all times.
