Fort Humboldt State Historic Park
3431 Fort Avenue, Eureka, California, United States 95503
This old military post was established in 1853 to assist in resolving conflicts between Native Americans and settlers who were searching for gold. Dogs are not allowed inside any buildings but they can walk through the outdoor exhibits and view historic logging equipment. There is also a grassy bluff area where you can walk your dog. Pets must be on leash and please clean up after them. The park is located south of Eureka off Highway 101. Go east on Highland Avenue for one block.
