Fort Lauderdale Canine Beach

This 100-yard, dog-friendly beach is maintained by the City of Fort Lauderdale, which issues passes for non-residents and residents of Fort Lauderdale. The white-sand beach is located behind the second set of parking spaces north of Sunrise Boulevard on A1A, around 1269 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. Dogs enjoy splashing in the water but must be leashed when not in the water.

To obtain a dog permit, the pet owner must provide a current hard copy certificate of vaccination. One-weekend permits for one Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are $7 per dog.

Annual permits cover access from January 1st to December 31st, and cost $30 per dog for Fort Lauderdale residents, $45 per dog for non-residents, and $5 for a lost permit replacement fee. Annual permits must be purchased in-person at the Parks & Recreation Administration located at Holiday Park, Monday through Friday.
