Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests

Four ranger districts oversee more than 600,000 acres of forest lands rich with diverse ecosystems that support a large variety habitats and wildlife, cultural history, and recreational opportunities. There is also an environmental education center with numerous activities and programs, a 36 mile trail that goes from the mountains to the sea, and many other sites of interest. Dogs are allowed throughout the forest and campground areas,,, they must be leashed and under their owner’s control at all times.
