Frisbee Golf Course
This disc golf course in Pasadena is the world’s first disc golf course. It is an extremely popular course, with over 100 golfers playing daily during the week and twice that on the weekends. If you are a beginner, this might not be the right course for you, but you can watch some of the pros at work. Disc golf is similar to golf with clubs and balls, but the main difference is the equipment. Discs are shot into elevated baskets/holes. Your dog is allowed to go with you on this course, just watch out for flying discs. Dogs must be leashed and poop bags/scoopers are necessary. During the summer months, there can be rattlesnakes, so make sure your dog stays leashed. You’ll also want to keep your pup away from the ground squirrels (they can potentially be rabid). This course is located in Hahamongna Watershed Park (formerly Oak Grove Park). If you don’t have any discs, you can purchase them online at http://www.gottagogottathrow.com. The prices range from $8-12. Directions to the course are on their website. The park is off Hwy 210 near Altadena.
