Located in a majestic setting along the shores of the Lynn Canal (the longest, deepest fjord in N America), Haines is home to a number of historic sites including the Fort Seward Army Post-the states 1st, the historic buildings of the Gold Rush era, and a rich cultural history. Self-guided tour maps can be obtained at the visitor center or the hotels. Your pooch is welcome to join you throughout the area,,, they are not allowed in buildings. Dogs must be leashed and cleaned up after.
