Description
The Haulover Beach Park spans 1.4 miles on the beach just north of the city of Miami Beach, between Sunny Isles Beach and Bal Harbour. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, but the parking lot entrance closes one hour prior to sunset. There are two sections of beach: one family-friendly area and one clothing-optional area. Humans enjoy lounging on the white sand beaches, swimming in the refreshing waters, grilling at picnic areas with tables and grills, launching from the boat ramp, and participating in kite flying and fishing. Concessions are available for beach chairs and umbrella rentals, as well as food and drinks. On Tuesdays, the park hosts ?Food Truck Tuesdays,? where beachgoers can grab a fusion of Miami flavors.
Dog Park:
Dogs are welcomed at Haulover Park, which boasts two dog-friendly areas: a ?Bark Park? and a specified stretch of dog-friendly beach. The dog park has two grassy off-leash areas, one for small dogs under 35 pounds and one for dogs over 35 pounds. There is a $2 dog park user fee per vehicle. The park offers fountains, waste bags and containers, and picnic tables.
Dog-Friendly Beach Access:
Dogs are welcome specifically on the portion of the beach across from the Bark Park, in between the #2 and #3 lifeguard towers from 8 am-4 pm daily. Dogs may go unleashed while in this beach area, but must be leashed at all other times. This area of the beach is most easily accessed through the #3 and #4 parking lots.
Parking rates are $5 per car, $15 per bus or RV, and a $1 additional surcharge for North Lot and Lot # on weekdays. On weekends, parking is $7 per car and $15 per bus or RV. Parking is available on-site by the Miami Pay-by-Phone app or traditional machine.
