Lake Mary
Here’s another lake and hiking trail to enjoy up in the high country. Lake Mary is known as one of the best fishing spots in the Eastern Sierra, regularly producing trophy-size trout. After your water dog is done playing in the lake, head to the southeast side of the lake to go for a hike on the Emerald Lake Trail. The trail starts at the Cold Water trailhead next to the Cold Water campgrounds.
Take the trail to the right towards Emerald Lake and Sky Meadows. The trail to Emerald Lake is about 1 1/2 miles round trip (out and back). If you continue on to Sky Meadows, then your hike is about 4 miles round trip. To get there from the intersection of Main Street and Hwy 203, take Lake Mary Road to the left. Pass Twin Lakes and then you’ll come to Lake Mary. Turn left onto Lake Mary Loop Road and the trailhead is located on the southeast side of the lake. Dogs should be on a leash.
