Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Louie’s Backyard dates back to 1971 when it was a 12-seat restaurant. The Caribbean-American-style restaurant is popular for its beautiful ocean views, a cafe-style restaurant, and a delicious wine bar. They use fresh, locally sourced produce, fruits, and seafood in their cuisine, which includes Florida Keys lobster, local fish, fine steaks, heirloom pork, double lamb chops, and free-range chicken. Starters include Bahamian Conch Chowder, Beef Carpaccio, Seared Duck Foie Gras, and Grilled Eggplant. Entrees include the fresh catch of the day, seared Furikake Crusted Tuna, Grilled Sweet & Sour Duck Breast, and Grilled Filet of Beef. The Cafe at Louie’s features a separate menu with wine and small plates.
Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating and in the bar areas. They must be leashed and well-behaved at all times.
