This refuge of over 15,000 acres provides a wide variety of habitats for a priceless diversity of fish, wildlife, birds, and plants. It extends along the east bank of the Columbia River from the junction of the Snake River to the mouth of the Walla Walla River then downstream into Oregon. Dogs of all sizes are welcome. Dogs must be under their owner’s control and leashed at all times, and please bring supplies to clean up after your pet. The exception to dogs being off lead is when they are assisting waterfowl hunters in retrieving downed birds during hunting season. Dogs, nor people, are allowed at Sanctuary Pond or off the roads or trails at any time.
