Over 100 years old, this 18,000 acre Wildlife Refuge is home to some 400+ American Bison as well as over 200 species of birds, deer, black bears, bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, and more. The Visitor Center has an interactive map to see where the best viewing is for the day,,, plus, they offer maps and books for sell, and knowledgeable park rangers glad to answer questions. Hours vary through the season. There are 2 driving loops or 4 walking trails. Dogs are allowed on the refuge,,, they must be leashed and cleaned up after, and they can go wherever people can go.
