National Mall

Dogs are permitted on the National Mall on leash. According to the National Park Service, they are permitted up to the monuments except in indoor or covered areas. The mall is two miles long and is an excellent place for dog walking downtown. You may get up-close views of the Capitol, White House, and most of the Monuments. Dogs are not permitted on the walkways at the Vietnam or Korean War Memorials or inside the Washington Monument.
