This day-use park was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. In addition to sharing a rich natural and cultural history, this park provides swimming, picnicking, birdwatching, fishing (no glass bait jars please), a nature trail and access to other trails, a volleyball court, and special events and programs. Dogs of all sizes are allowed at no additional fee. Dogs are not allowed at the creek, in the water, or at the swim beaches. The dogs are allowed to go as far as the top of the stairs that lead to some of these areas. They are allowed on the trails on lead. Dogs may not be left unattended at any time, including being left in automobiles. Dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times, and be cleaned up after.
