Theodore Roosevelt Island park has nice dirt trails and an impressive memorial to Theodore Roosevelt. Your dog will probably like this memorial the most in Washington as it has many acres of trails and nature. Dogs may accompany you on leash in the park. Parking is on the George Washington Parkway on the north-bound side and you walk to the island over a bridge.
