The Society for the Improvement of Conditions of Stray Animals
Established in 1974,as an alternative to the traditonal animal welfare system, SICSA has placed over 40,000 homeless dogs and cats into loving homes. Our mission is to promote the welfare of companion animals and to nurture loving, lifelong relationships between anmals and people. We are committed to ending pet overpopulation and therefore provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to our community. We also have programs in which our animals serve the community: pet-facititated therapy to senior centers, nursing homes and schools, career traing for special education students and partner with Project Mobility that provides work for the physically handicapped. We have over 340 adult and junior volunteers who provdide 16,000 hours of service a year at our shelter.
