Granite Basin Yavapai Campground/Prescott National Forest
Granite Mountain Wilderness is very popular due to its proximity to Prescott (only 20 minutes by paved road) and the unique experience it offers for hikers among huge granite boulders and varying trails, rock formations, and the spectacular view of the surrounding area. Dogs of all sizes are allowed for no additional fee, and they are allowed to go everywhere their owners can go except public buildings. Dogs may only be left for short periods on the campsite if they will be quiet and well behaved, and they must be leashed and cleaned up after. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground.
